History of Black Women at the University of Maryland
Oral History Project
The goal of this oral history research project is to document the lives and experiences of Black women who have worked or studied at the University of Maryland. These oral histories will be made publicly available, some on a website, all available to researchers, and all eventually archived in the university library. The hope is that these will become a part of how the university’s history is told so that the experiences of Black women – as students and as workers (in every part of the university) – may shape how the university’s history is told.
